  16. Recently purchasing LW4.0 pre release I've incountered a couple of strange 
  17. occurances and was wondering if abybody could share some light on them.
  18. Using a DX66-WIn3.1 & 32MB ram:-

  20. 1. When rendering the "Blade" sequence that comes on the cd-rom, turning of 
  21. traced shadows & motion blur, 6.5MB segment rendering, and in PAL res, I left 
  22. my computer on overnight. returning the next morning it was up to frame 26 & I 
  23. decided to transfer these to PAR for a quick squiz on how it looks. It only 
  24. saved 3 frames! I DID NOT press F9 to render the sequence, (ie. not saving 
  25. frames)... So what's up!. is it virtual memory, I have 32MB RAM! which brings 
  26. me to the next problem. (I must not that I have succesfully rendered my own 
  27. animations with no problems.)

  29. 2. I know Windows PC is a funny old beast (why can an amiga run windows & have 
  30. TRUE multitasking, even on a machine bought in 1988!), why is it that with a 
  31. perminent 20MB swap file (on top of 32MB ram) in the lightwave scene menu I 
  32. get told I have 100+ MB of page ram? is this my solution to problem number 1.?
  33. Is the PC swaping out on the blade scene, using up all my hard drive space as 
  34. well and not allowing me to save images? (130+ MB RAM to render blade - really)
  35. not to mention I still have hundreds of MB's of hard drive space after 100 MB 
  36. swap.
